“I am thrilled to team with my friends at Sony Pictures along with Amy Pascal to produce the next Spider-Man movie. Amy has been deeply involved in the realization on film of one of the world’s most beloved characters. Marvel’s involvement will hopefully deliver the creative continuity and authenticity that fans demand from the MCU. I am equally excited for the opportunity to have Spider-Man appear in the MCU, something which both we at Marvel, and fans alike, have been looking forward to for years.” – Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige.

While the news is exactly exciting for the fans, another report, even though it wasn’t an official report, stated that Andrew Garfield may be out as Peter Parker. Spiderman most likely will make his first appearance in third instalment Captain America movie, Captain America : Civil War, given that in the comic, Spiderman is quite an integral part of the storyline. Evangeline Lilly Reveals Her Character on Ant-Man

The Hobbit star, Evangeline Lilly, who will be seen as Hope Van Dyne in Marvel’s upcoming movie, Ant-Man, reveals more about her character as Hope and her connection with Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne who are actually her parents, during interview with Empire.

“When I first signed on, It didn’t really occur to me how monumental or what a big deal that was. I just thought ‘Oh great, Michael? Paul [Rudd]? Wonderful; great cast’. I’m very clinical about deciding what roles I’ll take, so I’ve sort of been checking boxes, and Michael became a box I checked. [I thought] ‘Okay great, they’ve cast that one well…moving on’ and I carried on with my process of checks and balances. And then I got to work [on-set] and started working with him, and then about halfway through shooting, I had to do this very intense emotional with Michael Douglas. And it wasn’t until midway through shooting this scene with him that suddenly the penny dropped and it occurred to me ‘Oh my God, I’m acting opposite Michael Douglas; this is a legendary star’. He’s a consummate actor, and it hit me. The reason it hit me was because I had been working with him for long enough to have suddenly kind of realize ‘Oh my God, he’s such a force every time he shows up on set. Every time they call action, what he brings into the room makes the room electric; it brings everything to life. And I realized I was standing before and had the privilege to be working with a living legend.”

She also kind of hinted that Hank Pym and Wasp, Hope parents, will actually be superheroes in this movie before something terrible happened to Wasp. “I was raised by two superheroes. So, I’m a pretty screwed up human being. I am also fairly capable, strong, and kick-ass, which is wonderful to play, but the most fun to play was just how messed up she was from being raised by two superheroes. And the clear message sent by name is that I’m not a big fan of my father and so I took my mother’s name.”

It was rumored that in the beginning of Ant-Man movie will be set in 1960. We might get to see young Pym and hopefully Wasp before the story goes to present day and more focusing on Scott Lang. Do you think that Hope will take the mantle of Wasp and fighting alongside Lang who will be Ant-Man? Are you excited to see Wasp/Ant-Man team up?

Ant-Man opens in theaters July 17, 2015.

“Sony Hack” Reveals More About Spiderman, Fantastic Four/X-Men, and Aquaman

The Daily Beast reported that “Sony Hack” accident had caused plot of damage to the company by leaking employee salary, digs some of A-listers like Angelina Jolie and Leonardo DiCaprio, and also it revealed Sony’s plans for future projects.

New found documents revealed some interesting plans for Spiderman’s future. An email dated October 13, 2014, from Michael De Luca, co-president of production for Columbia Pictures, to Amy Pascal, co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, revealed plans for a Spiderman three cameo in the third Captain America film, Captain America: Civil War.

“I really feel, in my heart of hearts, that the new spiderman in cap 3 could just appear in his own film, be it sinister six or a kick ass spidey film of his own, after that intro in cap 3 and people would be cool with it,” -Michael De Luca

Another email dated September 20, 2014, discusses plans for not only a “female spidey” movie but an Avengers-like superhero extravaganza incorporating characters from different upcoming Spiderman-related projects as an attempt to emulate what De Luca reveals is planned Fox crossover of the X-Men and Fantastic Four teams.

“[Simon] Kinberg told me fox is steering Xmen and Fantastic Four into an eventual team up film. Seems to me maybe, since the Spider-man universe itself is deep, you guys should look at sinister six, new spidey, female movie and venom as linked pieces leading to eventual mega movie ala Feige and Fox and not stand alone single films. It’s early in all these and you can still map out a blueprint for connective tissue.”

An October 21 email also revealed some directors for upcoming superhero movies, which many of them aren’t even set up at Sony, including Jeff Nichols (Mud) as director of 2018 Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, and plans for Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie) to direct The Amazing Spider-Man 3 in 2018. But, all of those information above aren’t 100% confirmed.

Marvel Would Like To Fresh Start With Spiderman?

Latino – Review reported that if Sony / Marvel deal of co-operating Spiderman by splitting 60/40 cost of productions, Andrew Garfield would no longer be Peter Parker and any baggage from existing films, Raimi or Webb, would be non-canonical. Marvel wants a fresh start with Spiderman story. The idea is that the Spiderman romance movie has been played out over five installments, so any new Spiderman would focus on the difficulties of being a teenager and a superhero with a romance side-story. Marvel thinks that the origin story is well-trodden territory, so any Spiderman movies under this deal would begin with Peter Parker already leading a dual life. Spiderman making his debut in Captain America 3: Civil War is still a possibility and would serve as the character’s introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

As for now, it was reported that Captain America 3‘s script has nailed down and it was rumoured that Black Panther will take Spiderman’s role in civil war. But, Spiderman cameo can still happen in the movie if the deal could reach the agreement.

What do you think? Do you think Marvel should start Spiderman with “clean slate”?

amazing-spider-man-andrew-garfieldI am a big fan of Spiderman. In my opinion, Andrew Garfield was the best Peter Parker and Spiderman on screen by far. His Spiderman deserved so much better than only having two movies. He was the least cause of the failure of the first and second Amazing Spiderman‘s movies. He did amazing job with the character with his snark and goofiness as Spiderman. Maybe, it just the character was not really well written. I hope, if the deal happens, they will give Andrew Garfield another chance to prove that his Spiderman is worth enough to be on MCU.

Another scenario, if Marvel really wants to reboot Spiderman, it’s okay. Let them reboot the story but just keep Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. A new story but same casts. Or, if Spiderman only will be a cameo on Captain America 3, they still can use Andrew Garfield’s Spiderman. They don’t need to tell any story about him and just have him swinging around and make cameo on one or two scene. In conclusion, I love to see Spiderman joining Marvel Cinematic Universe, but I don’t want them to let Andrew Garfield go. Those were just my opinion as fans. We still need to wait for further confirmation from both Sony and Marvel about this matter.

Spiderman on Joining Captain America : Civil War. Happening or Just a Dream?

Recent hacked Sony’s email confirmed that Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have had discussion about bringing Spiderman into MCU by making his appearance in Captain America 3 : Civil War. Nevertheless, it appears that the discussion broke down and Sony will retain the rights of Spiderman for time being. The Wall Street Journal reported that Sony Pictures president, Doug Belgrad, told Sony Motion Pictures chief, Amy Pascal, about a potential scenario that would be Marvel produce a new trilogy of Spider-Man movies, while Sony retains creative control, marketing, and distribution. In separate email, Ms. Pascal told a business partner that Marvel wanted to include the web slinger in Civil War movie. Because of some reasons, Marvel and Sony could not reach the agreement and make Peter Parker still living in separate universe from the Avengers.

But recently, a new report from Latino-Review  claimed that the deal between Marvel and Sony might still be alive. Sony may be reconsidering their position with Marvel and Spiderman, in light of the attention that the hacking debacle has placed on them. Instead of bringing back Spidey to Marvel, Sony and  Marvel wee trying to co-production effort where 60% of production costs will be paid by Marvel, and 40% goes to Sony. In exchange, Marvel could reclaim creative control over Spider-Man and allow him to crossover into Marvel movies like Captain America 3: Civil War.

Now that the broken deal has been revealed to Sony Pictures’ parent, Sony, Latino-Review’s sources said that the higher higher ups think that a partnership is still possible. Big Sony is none-too pleased with Sony Pictures’ leaked plans for the Spider-Man franchise, and is now thinking that instead of gambling with a franchise that could embarrass the company further, it might be easier to jump into Marvel and cut their losses.

Sony’s latest Spiderman movie, The Amazing Spiderman 2, did not really do well in box office. Now, Sony’s main concern is to produce “quality” films. Marvel has been doing much better job at doing that, leading Sony to believe relinquishing a cinematic Spider-Man to steadier hands is worth the creative and financial sacrifice.

So, what do you think? Do you really believe that a crossover might still happen? Would you like to see Andrew Garfield reprise his role in MCU? Or you think the other actor might be more suitable for the role?

Dr Wells is…. Reverse Flash?

Reverse-flashThe cat is out of the bag! Finally, The Flash has revealed who Reverse Flash is. It’s Dr. WELLS!!. The twist is kind of expected because Dr. Wells has been really suspicious since episode 2. It was revealed on 2 minutes extra time for The Flash that he has stored the Reverse Flash suit in his “future” closet and put the Tachyon device that the Reverse Flash stole or he did, to the yellow suit and said “Merry Christmas” with his creepy distorted voice. That’s the proof!

Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 9.02.52 PM The show has showed some hints that Dr. Wells character is surrounded by time travel things. He knew that Barry would be The Flash, he could check the future newspapers, and at the end of the episode, he always looks so suspicious in his “future” room. If he is really Reverse Flash, did one of them actually come from the future? Because it showed that Dr. Wells and Reverse Flash were in the same room at the same time and he actually beat Wells quite hard. So it makes no sense if neither of them from the future. Or did Wells can be on two different place at one time? Maybe.

It was also revealed that at the night Barry’s mom was killed, there were two colors of lightning surrounding the house. Red and yellow. We knew that the yellow color was Reverse Flash, and we already speculated that the red one could be Barry travel back through time to save his family or at least to save himself.

Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 9.03.59 PMThe other thing that actually bother me is the scene where Reverse Flash were trying to escape from the police by taking down all of them except Eddie Thawne. From the beginning of the show, I always believe that someday Eddie will be the Reverse Flash just like his comic book alter ego. There is no way the showrunners would named him Eddie Thawne if they did not have any plans for him to be The Flash villain. When the Reverse Flash spared Eddie, I thought that was because he was Eddie from the future. But then, it was revealed that Dr Wells has the yellow suit and can vibrate his vocal cord. But, in the comic book, Reverse Flash is actually more than one person. One is Eobard “Eddie” Thawne and the other is Hunter Zolomon. Maybe, there was actually two Reverse Flash on the show because if Dr. Wells as Reverse Flash came to present day from the future, he will be too old for that in my opinion, he might need someone else to take his place like.. Eddie. But that was just some speculations. We just need to wait for Winter Premiere to know who exactly the Reverse Flash is and what agenda that Dr. Wells had by helping Barry become The Flash.
